Legal Crap

Terms of Use

Just like any other insanely popular blog, we have terms. Not only do we have terms, but your use of our site (which includes RSS feeds, email and comments) implies your acceptance of them. So, you know, if you’re traditionally not a very accepting person, then please, by all means, read the Terms. For the purposes of this document, “we” or “us” may also refer to Stpetersblog.com when used.

Web Syndication & RSS Terms

We’ve got RSS feeds aplenty. We encourage you to use them; however, if you do use them:

  • The site name and URL must be present in conjunction with the syndicated content.
  • You may not modify the content or formatting of the feed.
  • All internal links presented within the content must be preserved (this includes links back to stpetersblog.com that may appear as a footer to each post.
  • Do not add anything to the content delivered by a feed (ads, commentary, funny hats, etc.).
  • We are not liable for your use of our feeds.
  • No feed content shall be redistributed through another feed service. In other words, we provide the feeds from our site, you don’t provide them from yours, no one is going to believe you can write as well as we do anyway.
  • If you are putting our content somewhere we don’t like, then we reserve the right to make you stop using our feeds.
  • We can terminate a feed or change its content whenever the hell we want and we don’t have to tell you jack about it when we do.
  • If your redistribution of our content on another site results in complaints or general offense to your site’s audience, it is not our problem.

Print Syndication

If you hate trees and feel the need to reproduce some of our content in print, there are rules for that, too:

  • Any presentation of content from the site must be accompanied by the site logo and full URL.
  • Don’t even think about editing the content except to convert hyperlinks to fully readable URLs.
  • Don’t use any images that appear on the site in print unless you are willing to work out the antiquated copyright details on your own time.

Corresponding with Stpetersblog.com

Any correspondence sent to us becomes our property. That includes mail art, images, email, carrier pigeons, semaphore and thinly-veiled threats. We reserve the right to reproduce said correspondence on our site, so check your spelling.

External Links

In an effort to bring you the joy that is Florida on the Internets, we provide a lot of external links on this site. We are not responsible for, nor do we necessarily endorse the sites to which we link. If you end up somewhere by clicking on a link presented here that offends you, take it up with the site on which you landed.

A Word about Comments

We can remove any comment from any post we want, whenever we want, and for whatever reason we want. In an ironic twist of power differentials, we will only remove comments by request under extraordinary circumstances, and no, regret on your behalf does not constitute an extraordinary circumstance.

Images

We use images from a wide variety of sources. Many are in the public domain, many are part of the news (Fair Use), and many are parodic or completely original graphics. If you think you have grounds for a copyright beef with us, we will be happy to work with you on the matter. This does not mean that we have to agree with you.

Now, before you get all excited about creating legal challenges concerning our content (visual or otherwise), please note that in recent months, the tide has turned against people getting all litigious about the internets. In fact, if you waste a whole bunch of people’s time with a frivolous claim about something you see here, you might find yourself actually owing a lot of money in attorney and court fees. We advise you to seek legal advice before making any claims against this site. Seriously, ask a lawyer - a good one - not one you saw on TV. Lastly, if you had to look up “litigious” in the dictionary, you shouldn’t be suing anybody.

General Disclaimer

In addition to some good old-fashioned reportage, this site contains a lot of rumor, humor, speculation and satire. We make no claims as to the accuracy or validity of any of the site’s content. Just preface every post with the words “Guess what I heard” and you should make it through things with a minimum of disillusionment.

Privacy

We do collect email addresses for the purpose of distributing a periodic mailing list and for promotional purposes related to this site or one of our partner sites. Your information will not leave our happy circle of friends. We hate spam too.
