We should just turn this into a sports blog since apparently that’s what the masses appear to care most about. As such, check out this story from Fox Sports on MSN: Top 10: Worst franchises in pro sports
Yay, we made a Top 10 list! Wait, ah shit, this isn’t a good list to be on. Let’s see what they had to say:
4. Tampa Bay Rays
Expansion teams are typically a laughingstock for a few years, but in the Rays’ case it’s been permanent. In fact, a perennial assumption is that the Rays will finish fifth in their division. The Rays’ best finish was in 2004, when they climbed to fourth in the American League East. They have finished fifth every other season and have never won more than 70 games.
Oopsies! Although, based on the excellent comments I’ve been reading around here lately, I am completely wrong on the implications of a new stadium and certainly the new stadium would also improve the quality of our team. Right?
got a tip?

Yes and new underwear would make you dick bigger also.
Yes.
Even with the quality of the writing on this site god help St Pete if it was turned into a sports blog.
Where the hell are my posts?
FOX news, huh?
its funny that the people that know about these kind of things have rated the rays as one of the top organizations in the big leagues. . .
FOX news. . .? quoting douchbags makes you, well, a douchebag. . .
[...] St. Petersblog pointed out how the Rays are ranked #4 on the worst-franchises ever list and it’s certainly fitting and deserved of the franchise that once attempted to charge a marching band to stay and watch the game after they performed the national anthem. On the field, they have won 70 games ONCE in ten seasons. Off the field… well, that national anthem flap is only the tip of the iceberg. I won’t go into that. [...]
Stop the Stadium! Stop the new Dali Museum! Stop the condos! Stop the development! Stop the retarded night clubs! Stop everything and bring back the days when the Vinoy was condemned and the city was nothing but crack-head homelessness! Yeah! That’s the idea. Let’s revert the city to some old lame version of itself instead of making it a city of the future.
What do you people want anyway? Maybe when you stop the stadium.. the Rays will move to another city. Then perhaps other businesses will get tired of all the bitching and moaning too… and they’ll pull out. I guess once the city’s economy implodes.. then you’ll all be happy. Right?
And for all of you into the POWW movement. You can’t even imagine how lame the people running it are. Let’s take Virginia Littrell for example. She’s a fat and nasty former council person (cause she sucked) and she’s a grown woman who never learned how to drive. Yup you heard it. She’s so lazy she won’t even walk where she needs to go… she’ll just bum rides off people. The only reason these POWW people are pissed is cause there not getting richer from the deal.
And casey… I think you’re blog has already become a sports blog. When you hate something so much… you eventually become it.
Just what I’ve been saying all along! POWW are just a bunch of ride bums! How dare you carpool, you…ride bums!
I changed my mind, I support the stadium now. I mean sure, it will be bad for St. Pete, but I’m not siding with any ride bums!
Dude, dirty hipsters like us want everything to be abandoned and filthy.
No, really.
Virginia Littrell is like one of those fat women who be so fat that they can’t reach all the places they should when they go in the shower(tub too small, don’t even try it), so soap never gets… there.
As a result, when you too close to them in a building(as opposed to outside where the air is flowing), you can smell something that just aint right. It’s nasty.
