topherchris blew the tax cut debacle between St. Pete and Tampa wide open, and now Dunedin weighs in making St. Pete look even more like a city full of assholes. Nate from Auto!Automatic!! points out this St. Pete Times article that outlines Dunedin’s plans to cut their budget, which is best encapsulated by this quote:
City staff initially recommended cutting grants to not-for-profit organizations by 20 percent for a total of more than $32,000 in savings. But the commission Tuesday directed staff to slash funding to each of four nonprofits by only 10 percent, or $16,300.
10%. St. Petersburg cut 80% of their funding, are you kidding me?! What the hell is going on? Check this shit out, too:
And commissioners also decided to take a cut themselves by staying home more. They opted to save $10,000 by cutting their individual $4,000 travel budgets in half.
That’s right, another Florida city showing St. Pete that cutting non-profits is a pussy way to save money. Where the fuck is the media on this?! Shouldn’t someone be publishing headlines lambasting St. Petersburg on the bullshit decision to cut 80% of their funding to non-profits?
got a tip?
